Hunting for Cherry Blossoms at Yeuido Park

The cherry blossom trees in Yeuido park were predicted to be in bloom by April 9 but because of the prolonged cold weather, they were late bloomers. So yeah, trees were bald when we were there on the 11th, our last day in Korea.

The park dwarfed by these steel and concrete giants

Where are the cherry blossoms?

The park is huge, just look at that map! Strolling around we found people having a picnic, playing basketball, biking, walking and just enjoying the nice spring weather. And, oh, we found two trees that have started to bloom.

 Just started blooming

Not to worry, you don't have to go to South Korea or Japan to see a cherry blossom tree, we have it in our own backyard called Cebu. Well, just two trees actually. Hehehe. One in Kaona Grill in AS Fortuna and one in the municipal park of Sibonga. (Let me know if there are others around Cebu.) I have seen the tree in AS Fortuna in full bloom each year but never bothered to take a photo. I promise to take a photo of it next time it blooms... April 2013.
